January 22, 2024, Rhinelander City Council approved the Park Donation Program for memorial benches, picnic tables and general donations.

Through the Parks and Recreation Donation Program, groups and individuals can make tax-deductible donations to restore and improve Rhinelander's beautiful recreation areas.  Benches and/or picnic tables may be donated to commemorate special events, honor individuals or agencies, or as memorials to loved ones.

Donations will be accepted for new park benches or picnic tables.  Park benches may have a small, engraved plaque affixed, if desired. Once the bench or table has been installed, the contact person will receive a certificate and a map showing the item's location.

If you wish to make a smaller donation, it will be pooled with other smaller donations and used to purchase park amenities as sufficient funds become available.  The contact person will receive a letter of thanks and acknowledgment.

Individuals or groups that would like to have a bench placed in the community in one of the City's parks or downtown can review the policy and use the application below.   Questions can be directed to Jeremy Biolo, Parks Foreman, at 715-490-6841 or parks@rhinelanderwi.us.
