The Department of Public Works & Utilities consists of three divisions: Street Construction and Maintenance, Water Department and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Department of Public Works & Utilities is responsible for all of the city owned infrastructure within the road right-of-way throughout the City of Rhinelander. Major facilities include streets, sidewalks, storm sewer, wastewater treatment plant, sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water pipe, fire hydrants and water storage tanks. The Department is responsible for maintenance of all of these facilities that residents and visitors use every day.
